. I just saw it. The 3D graphics are cool.but I wished they expanded more on Charles Dickens' deeper biblical, scriptural menings with the ghosts, like the George C Scott version of 1984 or the Alisiter Simm movie of 1951. Also the children un Ghost of Christmas Present were more like monsters than what they represent around the world - poor people, the hurting, rejected, despised and needy. I give the movie a 4 Star **** out of 5 ***** due to these lacking themes..

I thought the Jim Carrey version was pretty faithful to the book but George C. Scott will always be my favorite Scrooge. That's my favorite version all together. I really like Bob Cratchitt from the Albert Finney version because even though his family is dirt poor, he still tries to make their Christmas feel like money was no object in making it a merry one. Muppet Christmas Carol is another favorite of mine all around, especially Gonzo's narration as Charles Dickens, a lot of which came from the book. Scrooged is a funny modern take on the story and very quotable. I grew up with the Mickey and Bugs Bunny versions, and just saw the Patrick Stewart and Seymoure Hicks versions last year..

This movie is so good! I went to the cinema tonight and saw it, and I absolutely loved it! Im sooo gonna buy this when it comes out!! :-). and this Christmas carol takes third I saw this yesterday and started reading the original book today. In Mickey's Christmas Carol -- that was the first time Alan Young did the voice of Uncle Scrooge before he did Duck Tales. There was a cartoon version done back in the 1960s with Mr. Magoo playing Scrooge. I don't know if Rich Little's Christmas Carol (CBC 1978) was seen in the U.S. but it was very popular in Canada -- Rich Little impersonated characters like W.C. Fields (Scrooge), Richard Nixon(ghost of Marley with reels of tapes instead of chains hanging from him), Johnny Carson(Scrooge's nephew) and many others. In 1963 Rich Little made a record impersonating Jack Benny as Scrooge and John F. Kennedy as the Ghost of Christmas Present -- unfortunately that record was withdrawn when Kennedy was assassinated. (Kennedy in the words of the Ghost of Christmas Present said my time on Earth is short)..
